The automobile industry will soon be meeting for automechanika, the leading international fair for the automotive sector. Here, between 11 and 16 September, Linde Material Handling (LMH) will be presenting retrofit electric drive technology for motor vehicles. Its offerings cover a power range from 16 to 50 kilowatts and are aimed at workshops and conversion specialists. These retrofit eco-kits consist of electric motor, power module and software. The power characteristics are individually designed depending on the application involved and customer’s wishes. The European market leader for electrically powered industrial trucks is able to draw on forty years of experience in the development and production of e-forklifts.

Four times a day, potential customers and interested visitors will be able to gain a picture of the LMH product range at the Electromobility Show. There will be lots to see under the Magic Sky at the Agora outdoor area in the Frankfurt exhibition grounds: not only the world’s fastest electric kart, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres an hour in 3.45 seconds, but also the NEW 500E electric vehicle, which was jointly developed with Karabag on the basis of the Fiat 500, as well as the Rotrac E2 electric road-rail truck, which can pull freight trains weighing over 250 tonnes using only electric power. All these vehicles are based on components that are used in the LMH range of e-forklifts and warehouse trucks.

“We have the motors, the control systems and the software expertise to electrify many different types of vehicle – all from one source and at lower cost than many people think,” says Maik Manthey, head of the department responsible for electronic systems and drive technology. “*Electromobility* is not only feasible, but also affordable thanks to our proven series-produced products.”
